The different types of lighthouse clocks vary in size design and price. The very first design comes out of the 1800s from the original manufacture and his son under the name of Simon Willard and Son. The material for making these clocks were relatively cheap and this enabled the craftsmen to sell these at a very inexpensive price. Designed to sit on the mantels of many homes there were different variations in its making to fit the taste of potential buyers. These timepieces were among the first alarm clocks ever made in America.
